Established in Carpinteria in 1973 Curtis Studio of Dance is dedicated to the preservation of the performing arts. All teachers at the school have been thoroughly trained in the classical methods of ballet and have enjoyed long and successful performance careers.
At CSD our goal is to provide challenging and progressive dance instruction, at the same time, to allow the students to enjoy themselves and release inner feelings through dance expression. Instruction is geared to produce technically sound injury free dancers, in a caring environment, with an emphasis on self-esteem. When a student has been carefully taught the elements of dance, all forms of dance and other athletic movement will benefit. At CSD ballet technique is required for all students, since this disciplined technique includes all the basic elements for physical movement. Classes include dance history, terminology, nutrition, muscular and skeletal structure and improvision. Care is taken to provide individual instruction to each student. Class sizes limited so that every student may receive maximum attention. |
